Ras Mohammed is an amazingly beautiful nature reserve south of Sharm el-Sheikh (about 20 minutes drive), where you can find breathtaking desert landscapes, groves of mangrove trees growing in the water, saltwater pools, views of the environment, and the area that meets the Gulf of Suez with the Gulf Aqaba, various and rare species of birds and animals, beautiful rock formations and of course several spectacular diving sites, with a crazy underwater landscape of corals, hundreds of different sea creatures and shipwrecks (more information on Wikipedia).
There are several ways to reach Ras Mohammed: with a guide by land on a guided tour or independently (a guide/driver will be required in any case) or by sea on a boat that operates between the diving sites of the reserve. We recommend dedicating a whole day to the place and arriving by land, experiencing all the power of the park, of course, don’t forget a bathing suit, binoculars, and a snorkel because all the sites are also accessible from land.
You can arrange a tour through the hotel or any tourist agency in the city. The price depends on the duration of the tour and the number of people you will have. Entrance to the park itself costs $5 per person and another $5 for a car. Please note that there is no possibility of accommodation and there is no place to buy food and drinks, so you must prepare for this in advance.
Park opening hours: every day from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
