Sharks Bay

Sharks Bay (خليج القرش) is a type of holiday village on the northern coast of Sharm el-Sheikh, not far from the city’s airport. The area offers excellent luxury hotels that offer all-inclusive accommodation, a long stretch of beach that is mostly closed to hotel guests, and diving clubs through which you can tour the nearby diving sites with spectacular underwater views. These diving sites are among the most beautiful in Sharm, and the highlight of the area is the island of Tiran – an island that together with the coastal strip forms the Straits of Tiran at the entrance to the Gulf of Aqaba, and is under the control of Saudi Arabia, but it is possible and recommended to visit the diving sites around it (snorkeling there is also a great experience) which Colorful and amazing in beauty.

If you were wondering about the name of the place – then you probably won’t find sharks there these days. In the past, before the development of the area, sharks did swim there, giving the place its name, but sharks prefer to swim in the open sea, so since the area became more touristic and crowded, the sharks found calmer places around the Red Sea. Instead of sharks, you can see underwater hundreds of types of corals, fish and other sea creatures in a variety of colors and shapes.

Attractions in Sharks Bay

At the back of Shark Bay is Soho Square, which certainly makes an effort to live up to the name it is called – it is a not very large but very impressive entertainment and shopping complex, with a wide variety of restaurants and bars, night clubs, attractions for children, bowling, ice skating, a shopping boulevard and a modern mall, evening performances and even a fountain that presents a show of lights and music every two hours.

This is one of the most famous entertainment complexes in Sinai, illuminated with beautiful colored lights that give a feeling as if you are in a destination that is much further away from Sinai. The entertainment in the Soho complex is very suitable for children who will enjoy various facilities and even a mini amusement park at the entrance to the complex from the main road. In the center of the complex is a fountain that opens every two hours with a show of lights and music. It is important to note that there is nothing to get to Soho Square before the evening hours, because during the day all the businesses in the place are closed and there is really nothing to do there.

Another thing not to be missed if you are in the area is a cruise in the Shark Bay area and Tiran Island. There is no hotel in the area, and in fact in other areas as well, that will not offer you an enjoyable half day of sailing in the area of Shark Bay and Tiran Island. The diving sites there are some of the most beautiful in Sinai, colorful and spectacular, and attract divers from all over the world. You can go sailing even if you don’t dive and settle for snorkeling, and the truth is that even sailing without jumping into the water is a fun experience in itself. In addition to the corals, there is also a shipwreck (Lovilla) in the place, half of which remains out of the water, but the part in the water serves as a diving site and also a habitat for various corals.
